Perfect waves and curls!

curly.jpgScary but truth factoid: My hair is naturally very very curly.

To this end, I am in constant pursuit of hair treatments and styles that will make my curls go away - or look good in their natural state. Traditionally, I have failed...miserably.

Umberto Beverly Hills was kind enough to offer some great advice though...and I'm eagerly getting started trying it out for my next party!

Bouncy, Defined Curls:
In order to achieve bouncy defined curls you must start with a great hair cut - soft ends with slight layering is best. Most curly girls are afraid of a hair cut because many stylists do not understand curly hair. Because of this woman direct stylists to just cut a little off of the bottom - this is a mistake!

- Finish with gell or curl lotion and put on hair when wet. This keeps moisture in and seals the curl making them touchable not crispy. - Only brush curly hair in the shower after conditioner with a vent brush or Umberto Beverly Hills Banana brush. Do not brush later or hair will frizz Once dry you can rake the hair with fingers and product.

Perfect waves:
Begin with a great blow dry. This can also be done on a day after a great blow dry instead of washing the hair as the natural oils are great for the hair and they help the style longer. - Use metal rollers, blow dry each section, roll up, clip and leave in place to cool. The setting action takes place as the hair cools. - Spray lightly with a light working spray, such as the Umberto Beverly Hills Regular Hold Hairspray. - Remove rollers, lightly rake with the fingers. - Finish with a light spray of Beverly Hills Shimmer shine spray for touchable shine.
